José Antonio Montaño returns to the Teatro Real in Madrid to conduct the concert Recuerdas de una vida, a concert in tribute to the Spanish classical guitar where works by the composer and guitarist Ángel G. Piñero will be performed.
Maestro Montaño held the position of principal conductor of the Teatro Real Youth Orchestra, the Orquesta Escuela de la Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid for ten years (2003-2013). Since his tenure there, he has been invited by the Madrid Coliseum to conduct his period instrument orchestra La Madrileña and also to participate in the opera I Puritani by Vincenzo Bellini with Evelino Pidò and the singers Diana Damrau, Venera Gimadieva, Javier Camarena and Celso Albelo.
On this occasion Montaño will conduct the Santa Cecilia Classical Orchestra of the Excelentia Foundation. The concert will feature the participation of the winners and finalists of the latest editions of the International Classical Guitar Competition Ángel G. Piñero, Roman Zorkin (Russia), Luca Romanelli (Italy), Stanislav Steshenko (Ukraine), the Chagall Quartet (Spain), the soprano Estíbaliz Martyn (Spain) and the dancer Manuel Garrido (Spain) of the Opéra National de Paris.
