Drawing on his broad experience in conducting and the building of youth orchestras, José Antonio Montaño has joined the Forum Musikae High School of Music as the director of its symphony orchestra for the 2021-2022 school year.

Not only has José Antonio Montaño’s career trajectory led him to conduct prestigious, top-level orchestras in Spain and abroad, it has also revealed his steadfast commitment to the teaching of young musicians.

With an extensive teaching background, from 2003 to 2013 Montaño was the musical director of the Youth Orchestra of the Teatro Real of Madrid, working with the Symphony Orchestra of Madrid and its Orchestra Academy. During his tenure with the Teatro Real he headed many projects for its opera studio and for symphony concerts, as well as serving on the team in charge of the teaching program.

He is regularly invited to conduct youth orchestras, including the Orchestra Academy of the Teatro La Scala in Milan as well as the Symphony Orchestra of the High Performance Advanced School Of Music (Valencia). He is also in demand for master classes in conducting and interpretation for opera professionals—singers, conductors and coach accompanists.
