Following the hugely successful performance of the Oficio y Misa de Difuntos (Requiem Mass) during the Festival Internacional de Arte Sacro (International Festival of Sacred Art) in Madrid, in which Maestro José Antonio Montaño conducted La Madrileña in conjunction with the Coro Victoria and the Schola Antiqua, Maestro Montaño will again bring us the wonderful music of Spanish Baroque composer José de Nebra on the 250th anniversary of his death.
On this occasion Maestro Montaño will lead La Madrileña and soprano Susana Cordón in a program of overtures and arias from various zarzuelas of José de Nebra, such as Iphigenia en Tracia (Iphigenie in Thrace), Amor aumenta el valor (Love Gives You Courage), and Donde hay violencia no hay culpa (Where there is violence there is no blame).
The concert, slated for the Real Maestranza de Caballería de Ronda in Málaga, will be the highlight of the Week of Music 2018 and will take place next July 4th.
