José Antonio Montaño returns to the prestigious Royal Theatre in Madrid to conduct the Santa Cecilia Classical Orchestra of the Excelentia Foundation in a program focused on works by the composers from Cádiz, Manuel de Falla and Ángel G. Piñero.
The event, titled Breezes of Cádiz – Falla and Piñero in the Bay, will feature stage direction by Ignacio García and the special participation of the talented Paraguayan guitarist, Angélica Rodríguez, winner of the VIII International Classical Guitar Competition Ángel G. Piñero. This spectacle promises to transport the audience to the most evocative soundscapes of Spanish music through a tribute to Cádiz and its artists.
José Antonio Montaño, renowned for his deep knowledge of the Spanish repertoire, will be responsible for conducting this event. His commitment to Spanish music has been a constant element throughout his career, extending beyond the borders of Spain. He has conducted this repertoire on prestigious international stages, including La Scala Theater in Milan with his Academy Orchestra, Auditorio Largo Mahler with the Milan Symphony Orchestra, Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa with the National Ballet of Spain, and even the Alexandrinski Theater in St. Petersburg, Russia.
The concert will take place on June 7th and will include a selection of masterpieces by Manuel de Falla, such as the Suites from The Three-Cornered Hat and the Interlude and Dance from “La vida Breve”, along with emblematic pieces by the composer Ángel G. Piñero, such as Alegrías en el puerto or Brisas de Cádiz, which gives the event its title.
